Our Story

“Comfort” was born in 2001, in the mind of a visionary, Late Shri Govindram Bagaria. He believed in the potential and future of manufacturing, hence he set up the first ever fibre carding and fibre products making company in Nepal. As optimistic and religious as he was, he named the company Shivam Shyam Readymade Udhyog after two Hindu dieties.

The journey was a series of crests and troughs. But one thing remained constant – his belief in this product and his passion for promoting local employment. Never compromising in efforts, he started with 4 employees in a small room in his house, producing only pillows and quilts. His idea of what he wanted his products to feel is comfort – hence naming his brand “Comfort”.

It was in 2004, his daughter-in-law, Smt. Kiran Devi Bagaria, joined the business. Her innovative ideas for promotion and natural rejoice in networking meant a boon for the development of comfort. In 2006, we added dohar sets, bedsheets and cushion and pillow covers, adding a textile vertical to the company’s produce. After the demise of Shri Govindram ji in 2008, Smt Kiran Devi continued her tireless journey to make “Comfort” a success.

“Comfort” today boasts a complete line of fibre products, textiles, supplying to retailers in 65 districts across Nepal and working with all major Hotels and Hospitals for linen consumables. We employee 30-40 locals and are among the active members of Nepal Furniture and Furnishing Byawasahi Sangh, meant for the development of furnishing products industry in the country. We continue to live by our mission to achieve excellency in quality of manufacturing and to promote local employment in Nepal.
